Just Say No.

Say “no” to more.

For most people, the next level of happiness, fulfillment, peace, excitement, confidence, assurance of the future and so much more comes down to one thing…

Say “No” to more.

If you’ve ever looked at your to-do list and felt anxiety, it’s not necessarily because you are unable to do the things on that list; it’s mostly likely because you’ve said yes to too many things.

If you’re like me, it feels good to say yes. For my Strategic Life followers and myself, the opposite of happiness is not sadness… it’s boredom. I cannot stand to be bored. I would rather be busy than bored. That is a blessing, and a curse. I often find myself having said yes to too many things.

If you are spiritual, might I take a moment to also point out just because you could do something for others does not always mean that you should. There is a vast difference between being able and being obedient.

The scripture comes to mind, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Many people take this beautiful and encouraging scripture out of context. None of us can do all things. We are not God. Only God can do all things. So what does this verse mean? It means that one can do all the things that God has specifically called him or her to do, which isn’t every thing… it’s everything that God has called that specific person to do. Nothing more, nothing less.

For example, I cannot run 1,000 non-profits, but I can run one. God called me to start American Autism & Rehabilitation Foundation and, as busy as I am with five other companies, God has given me everything I need to make it work because, “I can do all things (that God has assigned for me to do) through Christ who strengthens me.”

What in your life can you say no to in order to free up space for things that matter?

There are many things that matter in life, but many of those things don’t matter as much as other things do in your life. Say no to more things, so you can say yes to what matters, leaving some room for personal reflection, development, growth, family, hobbies, prayer, enjoyment and fulfillment. Make some space. That’s a #StrategicLife.

You’re only one strategy away…
